What is the Difference Between Covercraft Custom Sun Shades & Other Custom Sun Shades?
While there are many car sun shades out there few if any stack up to the quality, precision-fit, and superior defense like Covercraft UVS100 Sunscreens.
Roll-Up Sun Shades vs. Covercraft UVS100 Sunscreens
Most roll-up car sun shades suffer from similar problems. The soft cell foam used in roll-up sun shades tends to curl over time at the edges and will sag in the middle due to lack of support. The reflective foil on the outside tends to look like a wrinkled shirt and eventually starts to peel. Generally roll-up sunscreens will look nice initially, but within a short period they start to loose the premium look and over time begin to experience issues with keeping them in place. Regardless if buying a custom roll-up sun shade or universal sun shade the manufacturing turn-around is quicker due to the simplistic nature and design.
Roll-Up Sun Shade Perk:
- You can store easier anywhere and even step on without fear of ruining the sunshade
- Some can provide a little better coverage behind the rear-view mirror
- Faster production times as manufacturing is simpler
Roll-Up Sun Shade Cons:
- Edges will curl up over time
- Center of the windshield shade will tend to sag over time
- Flexible nature often leads to heavy wrinkles
- Exterior film can separate easier
- Rarely a professional look
Covercraft custom UVS100 sunscreens utilize a solid foam core and individually sewn panels. This gives the sunscreens a more robust feel and long lasting coverage. Since the shades are not being rolled up the exterior always looks like a premium sun shade over a dollar store sun shade.
Excellent quality and turns heads compared to other shades. My truck lives outside so keeping the dash cool and protected is critical for longevity.
Custom UVS100 Sun Shade Perk:
- Sleek and professional look
- Easy accordion fold for compact storage
- Better UV & insulating heat defense
- Triple laminate construction for superior construction
Custom UVS100 Sun Shade Cons:
- Easier to damage a foam panel if not cared for
- Some windshields may have a slight gap around the edges or rear view mirror due to robust nature of the sunscreen
- Not something that you can toss things on-top of
The sun shade is a perfect fit. It looks nice and I hope it last for a few years. I ordered a sunshade from Weathertech and it did not fit my car. I had to readjust the rear view mirror every time I used it. I love my sun shade from Covercraft. As a senior citizen I don’t have a lot of money to waste. I live in a senior building and everyone asks me where I purchased my shade. I always tell them Covercraft.
