Covercraft to feature Menace Corvette at 2017 SEMA Show
PAULS VALLEY, OK (September 27, 2017) – Oklahoma based Heartland Customs is teaming up with Covercraft to unveil the 1972 Menace Corvette at SEMA 2017. These two companies have had a close relationship since Heartland Customs opened the doors in 2007, but this is the first time they have displayed together at SEMA.
The Menace Corvette is a concept developed by custom builder Jeff Page, car owner Dennis Van der Breggen of Amsterdam, Holland and designer Tavis Highlander. Menace is a 2017 supercar take on the 1972 Corvette convertible, mixed with European styling often seen in vehicles by Ferrari and Audi. The goal was to keep the look of the 1972 Corvette, but clean it up and add features and elements to bring it up to 2017 supercar standards in way of design, performance and creature comforts. “We are very excited to display a car in the Covercraft booth at SEMA 2017. This partnership has been a long time coming and we look forward to what the future holds for both of these great companies”, says Jeff Page, CEO of Heartland Customs.
Menace’s design starts with the custom chassis that was manufactured by The Roadster Shop in Mundelein, IL. “We were very particular on what we wanted to achieve in performance and looks, and the The Roadster Shop delivered a chassis that gave us exactly what we wanted”, says Page. He adds “The performance and handling of this car is unmatched, but yields a comfortable touring ride.”
The exterior has elements of carbon fiber and custom painted one off designed and machined parts to give it a modern, sleek look as well as functional elements such as the front fender grills with integrated cutout exhaust tips and rear active spoiler system. Car owner Dennis Van der Breggen comments, “I am so excited to see our vision come to life. We took our time, constantly improving the design. We ended up with a design that I feel is the coolest custom C3 Corvette ever built”.
Covercraft will be featuring the Menace Corvette in Booth #23343 in Central Hall at the 2017 SEMA Show.
